Portable Disposable Sand Ashtray with Lid

A single-use paper-bodied ashtray with a snap-on lid: Ø90 mm across the lid, Ø80 mm across the body, 30 mm high. Packed 30 per display box with 6 lids.

Construction

This is the only ashtray in the range with a lid, and the lid is the whole argument. Every other format is an open cup that has to stay upright; with a lid the sand bed is enclosed, so the unit can be carried in a pocket, a door pocket or a handbag between uses without emptying itself into the lining.

At 30 mm it is the shallowest of the three formats, which suits it to places where the ashtray is set down for one cigarette at a time rather than left on a table for an evening — a car, a hotel-room balcony, a smoking point at an outdoor event. The Ø80 mm body is narrow enough to sit in a cup holder.

Fit and limits

Hotel rooms, cars, banquet tables, KTV boxes and outdoor events. The paper body is not fire-resistant; only the sand bed extinguishes, so it should not be used as a general waste receptacle. Body is paper and the fill is a resin-based granulate, so the article is disposable rather than recyclable or compostable.

Specification notes

Diameter, height and pack count are as stated on the drawing; the 30-to-6 ratio of bodies to lids is quoted exactly as printed and has not been normalised. Outer carton quantity and gross weight are not on the drawing and are not estimated here.
