Disposable Paper Ashtray with Extinguishing Sand

A single-use ashtray: 88 mm diameter, 33.5 mm high, paper body pre-filled with a blue extinguishing granulate and sealed by a paper tube 240 mm tall. Packed 25 per tube, 50 per two-tube pack, 100 per four-tube pack.
Construction
The sand is the product, not the container. A cigarette pushed into the granule bed is starved of oxygen and goes out within a couple of seconds, and the ash is held below the surface rather than sitting on top where a draught can lift it. That is the difference between an ashtray that is emptied and an ashtray that is wiped.
The case for single-use is labour, not novelty. A reusable glass ashtray has to be collected, emptied, washed, dried and returned, and it carries the smell until it does. A sealed sand bed is placed, used and discarded, and housekeeping handles it in the same pass as the rest of the room.
The tube doubles as the retail unit, so the item enters a distributor's catalogue without repacking.
Fit and limits
Hotel rooms, banquet and wedding venues, KTV boxes, restaurants, cars and outdoor events. Not a general waste receptacle: the paper body is not fire-resistant, and only the sand bed extinguishes. The body is paper and the fill is a resin-based granulate, so the article should be described as disposable rather than recyclable or compostable.
